A little more

About me

Growing up, I would ask my parents why people were so different from one another. I was also the kind of kid who genuinely enjoyed mathematical proofs, so studying psychology and mathematics at Pomona felt like a natural start to bring those interests together and figure out what I want to pursue.

Through my projects, I’ve noticed that every campaign is really a question about people: what makes someone sign up, what they value, why they come back, or why they tell a friend. During my summer internship at MIXXI, an AI startup in Palo Alto, our app downloads were found to be driven by creator familiarity. It all comes down to human connection, and I love to find out the “why” behind such underlying behaviors around us.

I love dancing, and it has taught me a lot of what I bring to my work: you get better by showing up, practicing, and caring about the community around you.

Interests

Dance

I trained in ballet and jazz growing up. Beyond ballet and jazz, I trained professionally in hip-hop and contemporary in my teenage years, and I have recently gotten into heels.

Arissa at Lakmé Fashion Week India

I have performed for Sabyasachi and FabIndia, and at Lakmé Fashion Week India. At the Claremont Colleges, I choreograph for Claremont Tamasha and take classes in the 5C dance community.

Fashion

I love fashion because it lets me express my personality and creativity without having to say a word. I’m fascinated by how clothing reflects culture, shapes identity, and influences how we see ourselves and others. Below are some of the reels I made.

Investing

I see markets as a way to understand human behavior through data. I’m interested in how fear, hype, and herd mentality shape the decisions people make, sometimes pushing prices away from what the underlying numbers suggest. I enjoy using statistics to look beyond daily market movements and understand the patterns behind them. Through FLIP, I also help other students learn about investing, break down financial concepts, and feel more confident making their own investment decisions.

Matcha

I make a lot of matcha. It’s my favorite way to start the day.
